The gravelly old riverbed soils of Coombsville make for the perfect home to create this right-bank Bordeaux-inspired blend. Heady aromas of black plums, mulberries, kirsch, wet stone, freshly ground coffee, underbrush, and dried leaves give way to a ripe and unctuous palate of dark black fruits, cloves, sarsaparilla, pulverized stones, and vanilla cream. The wine’s concentration is matched by a mineral-laced structure indicative of the rocky terroir that the appellation is known for, possessing a robust power and elegant grace. The lengthy finish continues to expand on the palate, with an expressive garnet-infused acidity and sublime texture that brings the entire experience to a beautiful close.
